The appreciation is appreciated, but its actually my team that does most of the "trickling" of information when it comes to network-related phone programming and firmware. Official updates, network issues, and other related topics are where I get the "trickled" information.

On topic, after 2 minutes the SIM card times out and is registered as inactive on the LTE network and has to be reprogrammed immediately upon becoming active again (which takes only a few seconds and is not noticeable).

If there is no power to the device for 2 minutes why would you need to pull the SIM no way the SIM card can talk to towers when in place if there is no power? So why not just advise a 3 minute battery pull just to be safe and then reboot?

Did you mean "Fast boot" cause that option is still under Power menu?

I had my 4G "disappear" this morning after the update. Battery pull did nothing, but cycling to CDMA then back to CDMA / LTE with the new toggle brought back stable and even faster LTE for me. Do not know why this worked for me, but it did.

Because even if the battery is out, there is still power, and the SIM is still active.

Most smartphones hold reserve charges, mainly in their capacitors, so that if the battery is removed, they safely shut themselves off in the background so no data corruption occurs. Many people encountered this truth with a select few Motorola Droid 2's when they plugged it in to charge and removed the battery. The phone would actually stay powered on and operational because the AC charger would keep the capacitors charged due to a hardware surging problem.

And I could say 3 minutes, couldn't I? Meh, as long as the SIM tray is slid out for over 2 mins, any time would work.

This info should be a sticky someplace! I knew I was on the right track pulling battery and SIM last night but I didn't know about the "2 minute drill" ... LOL

LTE is back! 13.19mb down 1.94mb up and solid as a rock! I'm back in the "very happy" camp of TBolt owners.

I use wifi at home almost exclusively but I wanted the LTE speed as a backup in case my cable connection goes down. I need online availability for work at all times.

Gotcha that makes sense I knew was reserve charge just didn't realize it was enough to send power to the SIM to keep it communicating with the network.

I think it's more a matter of waiting for the last connection to time out on the network side. When I tried pulling battery and SIM last night I also pressed and held the power button for about 10 seconds. This will drain any power in the capacitors as well. I think my problem was doing all this in less than a minute and firing back up again too soon.

It takes only minute amounts of power to ping a SIM authorization between phone and tower. This is done even if the battery is out.

Now, over an extended period of time, that reserve charge will die off by itself, and can be sped up by holding down the power button while the battery is out, but it can still take up to an hour for the rest of the reserves to bleed off. I prefer 2 minutes compared to an hour.

Most easily found when using another launcher program such as Launcher Pro. Its labeled as "Clock". It supposed to be improved to add landscape functionality, which I have yet to see. You can reach it by tapping on the time on the HTC Clock widget on your homescreen, if you have it set up.

There is another app that shortcuts you to the Desk Clock screen saver called Desk Clock, but that already supported landscape mode, so it was a bit confusing to me.

I'm still rebooting constantly. Time to try another factory reset and if that fails bring this thing back to VZW. With they had another phone I'd consider so I could dump this one.

Agreed. I was offered a Samsung Charge but wasn't really interested in exchanging for that one. Can't even surf and talk at the same time unless you're in 4G.

I have only seen it reboot the one time but that doesn't mean it hasn't done it more, I just haven't seen it. I bought an extended battery for this phone, but it reboots so often even the 2750 battery doesn't get me through the day without recharging.

I'm interested to know if your factory reset helps. I may try that again, but I'm so tired of doing that and having to set up my phone all over again.

My gps finds be so quick it is awesome. So happy this update seems to have fixed most issues.

Defiantly will hold me over til the official gingerbread release.

Fours hours in and 1 reboot already. Don't see any difference so far with GPS.

But I now have
Build Number: 1.70.605.0 Baseband: 1.39.00.0627r, 0.01.69.0625r

Anyone else notice this or have a different Baseband revision?

I already knew I was on a 4G fringe area here in Akron, OH but now I don't get 4G unless I force w/ LTE switch. Yes I did the 2 minute battery pull and still have the same issues lack of 4G. Prior to the update i could get 4G in my basement after the update I only get 3G. If I force 4G using LTE it switchs to 3G when entering the basement and does not return to 4G unless it's forced. I think the original leaked MR2 (1.39.00.0508w, 0.01.69.0510w_3) radio performed better for 3G/4G handoffs.

Oh I am using the rooted RUU leak from XDA forums, but I had the same issues using the new radio on BAMF. I wonder if Verizon changed the 4G to 3G signal handoff to a higher strength so people in fringe areas wouldn't loose battery constantly searching for signal.

GPS works significantly better with 1.39.00.0627w, 0.01.69.0625r than any prior radio.
WTF is up with Verizon forcing #xxx numbers onto my phone? I don't want that crap and have no need for it as I know how to use VZW website.
