New phone routine?

Im an odd duck.. my anticipation this year isnt like last year.. after i preordered this year i basically forgot about it... first things first, wet install screen prtector n pop it into a case. Then I'll let it full charge before turning it on.. then I'll get upset n take the case off to ibsert the sd card.. case back on. Then set up. Of course set up is day 2, because i let my screen protector dry

I don't have much of a routine really. Usually just power it up and go about my day, then I'll disable apps I'll never use and install what I want at night when I get home with a drink in hand. Usually a great drink. It'll be Chimay Grand Reserve Tuesday!

The first thing I do is call off work.

Me: Sarge, I am not feeling well. I don't think I'll be able to make it in today.

Sarge: Damn another new phone.

Me: Yep!.

Sarge: Did you at least tell your wife you bought the phone this time?

Me: Maybe.

Sarge: See you tomorrow.

I don't know if it has any benefits (probably not) but I always do an erase and install right out of the box before I do anything else. Then I set it up. I manually install apps because I don't always want all the apps I had on my last phone to be on my new one. Its tedious but I want it done right. Then I always tell myself that it takes a couple cycles for the battery to get "broken in" if you will to get the normal battery life out of it. All of this is done while its plugged in getting a full charge before I unplug it. Then, I just enjoy it!!!

Mine is simple. I always charge it to 100% first.

I set it up using Google and Samsung.

I disable unwanted bloat.

I add necessary apps.

I play around using TW.

I do my developer options stuff.

Finally I add Nova Prime and theme it.

First I login to Samsung, WiFi, Google, and my Office 365.

I let all my contacts, email and apps sync.

I know it's tedious and pointless but I never install from backup. I want everything fresh.

I disable, uninstall and disable all of the apps and bloat I don't want. Then, I try to function on as little apps as possible, just to see how it runs for a few days.

I definitely loose a lot of sleep for a few days going through each new setting and tweak.

I open up the box, keep the phone in plastic and start charging it. I then go through the box looking at what came with the phone. I then usually like you go get me a cup of coffee, sit down go through my old phone, backing it up to Samsung cloud and Google. Then when the battery is full on the new phone. I turn it on, and go through the setup, restoring Samsung backup, logging in to my Google accounts and then I commence to my usual 6hr login to all my apps and play with the phone session.

Coming from iPhone again, I'll do it a little different than most. Tomorrow I'm backing up media on Google drive. Then Tuesday, pick up my Budweiser. Come home, unpack everything. SD card from my N7 in, screen protector, case, and charge it to 100% while I have dinner. Come back and manually enter all contact info(last year I used smart switch), and then go through every app I have on the iPhone and find it in the play store. Disable bloatware, and then place it back on the charger before bed. Ah Tuesday can't come quick enough here!

To bad they don't come with a new phone smell like cars cone with that new car smell. That way we don't want to ware off the new smell. Just sit back and take a deep smell......sniff.. ahhhhhhh!!!!!
Lol they sort of do. When you open the box etc. Here I am, Tmobile customer and mine still shows ready for UPS. Have the tracking, the imei, the documents and it even shows the first due date Dec 1 payment. Lol. Just no PHONE.

Pre-order my SGNote 8 after LGG5 on replacement to my lovely precious SGNote 3 (gone to my husband)
Soooooo exciting !
I wonder if I should charge when I unbox or wait for 15% charge ?
How do you ?

My routine : configure with wifi, Gmail, Google and Samsung accounts and after that : many many hours to discover all the settings and choose themes, wallpapers etc....

No sleep for 2-3 days ! ^^

Oh yeah I will also immediately go register the phone to get my free stuff!
I didn't know you could register for the Samsung promotions if you didn't order from them!? If you can thats awesome news for me! I though I missed out by ordering through Verizon.

yes, all pre-orders are eligible

How i usually set my devices up:

set up accessibility. I'm very legally blind so first thing i do is get the phone's screen reader talking.

Go through setup. Google backup has always worked for me.

When all my apps are finished downloading, immediately sets up my prefered text to speech engine. Google lady makes me wanna punch things. I can't have my phone talking with her.

Sets up launcher and keyboard. Nova launcher you rock. Start logging in to fb, ig, email etc.

Starts going through settings and tweeking things.

The last thing that makes my phone official is setting up my twitter account on it. Once that's setup, you're not taking that phone from me.

Carefully open box as well as my bear like hands allow.

Apply screen protector really badly. Get wife to apply spare one like an adult.

Put in case. Immediately take back out to put sim and sd card in.

Fire the fecker up. Hope it has some charge.

Rack my syphilis addled brain for my passwords. Reset most of them.

**** about with it for 2 months.

Get bored and start looking at poor renders of the next big thing.

Same vicious circle past 10 years or so.
