It looks as though the back is a matte finish, which is good. I'm glad it's not shiny and black. That would have been a fingerprint magnet, and would have looked awful in a clip holster showing off all of those fingerprints.

Nowhere near as curved as the previous Samsung OEM released teaser pic.

I'm not crazy about the way the phone looks, at all. It's not ugly. It's just not "beautiful".
I hate cameras that poke out of the body.
Just like the HTC Inspire's camera.

The camera seems to poke out slightly. I'm sure it would have while trying to get the phone as thin as possible. It sure beats the Motorola phone, with that huge hump near their cameras.

Hopefully that curve will prevent the camera lens from touching surfaces when you set down the phone

I also don't see a battery door.

The Samsung Infuses back similar to the GN. What will happen is the entire center part (90% of the back cover) is removed and the battery would be under there. On the Infuse, it takes like 1/2 second to open up.

The notch/raised lines at the bottom of the back look like gripping points to slide the back off perhaps?

I'm guessing that's for the speaker.
The Infuse has an indentation on the side where you put your fingernail in to pull the cover off.
