New pictures of the Bionic!

Gingerbread is not designed to utilize 2 cores. Some apps can be specially coded to do so. From personal experience, going from a DX to a DX2 (both on GB) was very minor (except for the crappy pentile display on the DX2)

No. Gingerbread is not designed for multiple cores.

Actually, Gingerbread does support dual cores, there are just no apps yet that are optimized for dual core(or maybe just a few but I am not aware of any)

I cant judge by the size of that thumb, but it looks quite thick on the top end. I'd like some dimensions.

If the battery life is as good as "reported" I might have to think again. I was really looking past this phone to the Vigor or even the Prime but I think i've just about had it with the TB's poor battery life. I'm in an office all week but on the weekend I can be at 40% before 1pm.

At least i can wait for reviews on this and the Stratosphere before making any decisions.

I haven't heard, so pardon if it's been said, but what the heck did they change on the original Bionic to this version? Looks like a beefier Droid X2 plus 4G.

Completely unrelated to phones but it reminds me of Infinity Ward adding a few things to MW2 and calling it MW3.

Well they changed a few things. Looks, processor changed from a Tegra 2 to an OMAP 4430 (most likely, don't think it's the 4460), added 512MB of RAM to make it a total of 1GB, and they even built their own LTE chip to be used with it, added webtop functionality.

Thanks. I had heard about the RAM, the LTE chip I guess could have caused delays after the Thunderbolt issues were presented.

I doubt as well it will be the 4460 as well.

More than likely the original Bionic was simply a failed phone. One rumor was that it overheated too much but not many people know the real reason. Maybe it was just too buggy without enough RAM. Maybe they couldn't get it transition 4G/3G signals? We may never know.

Thanks, Robrecht

I doubt they'll ever tell us. The CES version seemed like it worked well, but no one really got a chance to play with it for an extended period of time, so maybe it was overheating? Transitioning 4G and 3G has always been a problem, so that's probably the culprit to why Motorola built their own radios.

with these new photos that just came out i personally love the look of it. motorola has keep with the industrial look it has had. side note it still looks thinner then my voyager ive had to use since april waiting for this thing to come out so im perfectly happy with it.

Yeah I've been waiting since January lol. I've almost been tempted to buy other phones, but this seems like it will be the only thing that will truly make me happy
