New pictures of the Bionic!

Just guessing those little contact points under the battery are for a charging pad enabled battery cover?

This is something I'd like to check out, inductive charging. If it's not too expensive to buy the cover and charger, I might go try it out. It certainly will declutter a bit of my room, as I can almost never find my USB cable charger for my current phone under like a billion other chargers, power cables, etc.

Might be tough since bionic will not sit flat like other phones

Ok, so in this picture you can see the LTE Sim card and the MicroSD Slot. I have an OG Droid and removing the MicroSD card requires removal of the battery. This obviously does not seem to require that, but one thing i'm not sure about is whether or not you can hot-swap your MicroSD Card. I can't think of many times where i'd really need to, but its something i think about. Obviously if you have apps installed on it they can't be running, but i assume the technology allows for it. Just curious if other phones that have accessible MicroSD card slots under the battery cover can remove them safely while the phone is on.

Yes you can. My Incredible is like that. If you go under storage settings you can unmount the sd card and its safe to remove. My X you have to pull the battery to get the card out.

Can some one point or paint a arrow on the spot where you say the microsd card goes? because what i see is a slot for sim and sim only. i really cant see them installing sd card on top of the sim. its always been along side one but not ontop

Thats exactly where it would go. That symbol on the black piece is exactly what it looks like on other phones. The white part is the SIM Card... which is underneath.

That being said, I'd bet the SIM card removal requires the battery be out as there's no visible way to remove it unless it slid towards the 'bottom' of the phone.. or 'left' in the picture.

What if the inductive charging back is like the Thunderbolt? It would sit flat then, that would give it a big surface to sit on instead of trying to lean it on the hump

Liking the pics! Coming from a D1 like a lot of you, it'd be tough to pass on this machine! My phone needs to retire, and this droid resembles much of what I loved about my OG droid / moto quality. Can't wait - let's get this out Moto!

I like the way this phone looks, but i am still upset that Motorola put the Sleep/wake button on the opposite side of the Droid 1.
First the far Right (Like it should be) Then to the middle. (Not as good but i was ok with this) Now they are putting the Sleep/wake on the top left. What the heck? Seems like the most uncomfortable place to put it if you hold the phone in your left hand. Especially if its a large phone with a large screen.
To keep both left and right handed people happy i dont know why Moto wouldnt just leave the button in the middle. Always changing things. In this case, not for the better.
I know its a small detail guys, but i dont think it needed changing.

Also on the inductive charging, Those covers usually add thickness if i understand it correctly. I would not be surprised if the inductive back would make the back end thicker and create a totally flat back.

Me personally, i will take a Spare battery charger and extra battery over inductive charging any day. By the leaked parts from amazon, it looks like the Bionic will have that. So I won't loose that luxury i have with my droid 1. Its so much easier to just swap batteries and be at 100% charge then to plug the phone in all the time. JMO

Since I hold my phone in my right hand, it's not a big deal, but I see where you're coming from.
That's what I was saying, should make it flat for inductive charging.
Hopefully you won't need that extra battery ;)

I dont know if this was noticed, But if you look at the first picture on this page.

I see a white light on the top right, above the screen. Looks like this might confirm that the Bionic has a LED notification light. You can also see it again in the main pic on the page, so its not a reflection from a light. Anyone else see this?

Edit: looks like its visible on almost every pic. Good to see that feature is a lock.

I believe the specs on Motorola's website also listed the LED.

Doesn't the Droid 3 have one as well? I think most of Motorola's phones have notification lights now, people seem to like them. And that MotoDev leak did say it had a tricolor notification light, just like the Droid 3 and Photon.

All of Motorola's Droid lineup of phones have had multicolored LEDs, something I've missed since I got this Thunderbolt. I'm glad to be going back to a Moto phone. I don't think some people understand the usefulness of a multicolored LED. It makes it so much easier to check my phone for notifications because you just look at the color of the LED without having to turn your phone screen on and you immediately know what type of notification it is.

^Yea....for me Gmail is the lowest priority for me. So if something comes from Gmail....it gets ignored on a regular basis.

Has any info come out from the people taking these pictures about the screen? Pentile or not? I'm assuming the worst, but... hope...

(I have seen them in person, they are as awful as everyone says. Call me picky, I don't care.)
