I was going to flash Myn's Warm today but ROM Manager has a note to manually flash it. On the Warm thread, it says to flash the latest radio's, etc, to run RLS5.

I have been playing around with rooted stuff here and there, but I don't know a whole lot about the radios. I searched around and didn't really find a satisfactory answer.

The thread I'm looking at is CalKulin's radio thread. He listed all versions of the radio, WiMax, PRI, and NV.

First off what is PRI and NV?

My current radio is 2.15.00.09.01, don't know how to check everything else. I don't want the new hboot so that doesn't matter.

There is a combo pack that flashes all of the above, (radio, WiMax, PRI, and NV) would it hurt to flash that? Can it mess my phone up in any way?

Lastly, does clockwork nandroid backups work for these things? (Radio, wimax, pri, nv) I remember reading that only Amon RA backs up certain things, whereas clockwork doesn't. I can't remember the specifics.

I have been using Cyanogen for awhile, and I just want to give this a try. The newest radios and stuff will still work fine on Cyanogen right? I don't see why not.

Really appreciate the help. I tried looking around for a bit, but nothing was specific to what I am looking for.

That radio thread you found is very well maintained. You can go ahead and flash the latest from there and be phone. It's a good call to keep your current hboot.

Nandroids don't include radio information typically, they just backup your android system.

The newest radios do still indeed work.

You can flash the radio file through recovery, it's usually a two step process that will finish up after the phone reboots. This is normal.

NV is in non volatile memory (area/space) where Wimax, PRI etc updates are stored. It also controls data rates and bandwidth. PRI stands for Primary Rate Interface which is a telco standard for how voice and data is handled between the user and telco switch (cell tower).
