I am coming from MOAR ROM and would like to maybe try this ROM

[ROM] MSG & Chubbz v5.0.2 **MultiWindow | 3 Minit Mod | 10 Lockscreens** [5/06/2013] - xda-developers

I have 4 questions:

1) Can I just flash this ROM over my MOAR ROM or do I have to go back to MD4 and then flash it?
2) I have my nandroid backup on google drive. It was compressed when putting it up on google drive. If I want to go back to MOAR, could I just DL the backup from google drive and install from clockwork mod recovery? Do I have to unzip it first? If so, would ES file explorer be ok?
3) It says that twrp is recommended. Would the ROM function better if flashed from TWRP?
4) is it possible to keep clockwork mod and get TWRP? If not is it worth switching to TWRP?

1. Yes just flash it. Just wipe cache in recovery.
2. I believe you leave it as a zip and appky it in recovery.
3. Reccommended, not required. Any custom recovery should work.
4. Haven't used TWRP. But you can only have 1 custom recovery.

You can just flash it like golfdriver said. However if anything doesn't work right you need to go back and do a clean install. That being factory reset, wipe cache & dalvik. I have not used CWM on this phone. Have been using TWRP since I rooted.

Either recovery will work. I used CMW first and then switched to TWRP and im glad i did. It has a much cleaner look to it and very simple to use, not that clockwork isnt easy but IMO TWRP is the one you want to. But ultimatly its your decision, so why not try it and if its not your bag you can always go back to CWM

ok, I installed TWRP through goo manager. I immediately made a nandroid backup but I clicked "compress files" (i think thats what the ticker said) when making the backup. I thought that it would zip the files so that I could put it on dropbox but it didnt. I then zipped it on es file explorer and uploaded it to dropbox. Should I make the backup again without checking the compress file? Or would it not matter.

Also, if I wanted to do a restore, do I have to download to my phone from dropbox (i removed it from my phone) then uncompress with file explorer and then restore. Or can I just flash the zip from recovery like its a new ROM? I just want to make sure that everything is in place before flashing another ROM. Thanks

Why not leave your back up on your sd card? If its on drop box and your phone bricks, how are you going to access the back up to restore to your pre rom state?

my sd card is only 2 gigs. I know i should get a SD card that holds more

I would never flash a brand new custom ROM over an different custom ROM without doing a clean install, including wiping cache, dalvik and factory reset.

If you plan on flashing ROMs and having backups, yes. I have a 15 GB card and about half is used for a ROM backups and music.
