Finally! I know BAMF released the ICS/Sense leak a couple of weeks ago, but that ROM and subsequent iterations of it had some issues that made them tough to use as a daily driver. For me, the biggest drawback was iffy WiFi and no bluetooth if I wanted to use the radios that gave me iffy WiFi. We all know that these issues have nothing to do with the great devs at BAMF, and I for one, just appreciate them releasing an ICS build for us to play with. However, Liquid/Jester released 2 ROMs last night; one of which will become my daily driver. Yes, there are still a couple of notable bugs (camcorder, Netflix), but I've been messing with Liquid's Vanilla build, and I'm impressed. Fast, and with Liquid's custom launcher, it might give us the closest thing we'll get to straight ICS. Check them out at xda: Thunderbolt Android Development - xda-developers

I haven't tried Jester's build yet, but I'm getting ready to load it up, and give it a go. They are the same ROM but Jester's includes Google Now, Beats, and uses Nova Launcher, which will be familiar to anyone who used his Alpha build. I'd love to hear everyone else's feedback on either of these.

In the meantime, here are some screen shots of Liquid's build. (Main Home screen, and then two shots of the home screen with invisible when not clicked on Circle Launcher, and my main apps screen.)

EDIT: I could have sworn I posted this in the Rooting section. My bad. If the mods want to move it there for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Do I need to re-flash recovery if I have been running the recently leaked Sense Rom. When I go to boot my phone, holding power, and vol down, the phone doesn't do anything?

EDIT: Re-flashed it in Rom Manager and it worked just fine.

Are you using radios from .9, .19, or other with this ROM?

I'm using the .19 radios with both of these. So far so good with both ROMs. Battery life isn't as good as what I was getting with Thundershed, but it's much better than any of the ICS leaks. I'm hoping they find a fix for Netflix, but I can live without that and the camcorder for a little while. Music plays seamlessly with Liquid's kernel; no hiccups or stutters like with some other ROMs. If you haven't flashed it yet, I definitely recommend doing so.

I'd really like to flash this ROM. I haven't flashed a custom ROM yet, but this will probably be the first (well, the version that has a working camcorder actually). The fact that it doesn't have a camcorder yet is a deal breaker. I have a 20 month old daughter and i need to have the camera/camcorder ready for those "can't miss moments."

Is anyone else having problems with their wi-fi locking up the phone. I was running ThunderShed and Wi-Fi was useless. Once turned on, the phone would become unresponsive, and I would have to pull the battery. I installed the BAMF leak and Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. Now I install this, and after about an hour or so, the phone became unresponsive again. I wonder if this is something AOSP related, but then why would my girlfriends TunderBolt run it just fine. I just over-clocked it to 1220, so maybe that will do the trick. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I hate to ask, but are you doing a complete wipe/flashing superwipe before you flash either ROM? I ran ThunderShed for a good month before flashing Liquid ICS last night, and I never had a problem with it. However, I have come to realize that ROMs act differently on Thunderbolts, which is why I had so many problems with WiFi on the leaked ICS ROMs.

Redcat, that's totally understandable. I'll be sure to let you know when they get the camcorder working.

there are only 2 problems im having with this rom, and they are problems i had with 1st version as well.

1. when i 1st turn on the phone in the morning. wifi doesnt connect. i have to shut wifi, and then turn it back on b4 it connects. yesterday i even had to reboot my phone to get mobile data to connect when i went out and left the wifi area of my house.

2. im still only getting 1 bar on the wifi when i leave the immediate area of my router, although speeds dont seem to change much if at all.

overall i love this rom, and even with the above inconveniences and no cam corder, this is still my DD

I haven't seen any wifi issues out of Jesters MR2v7 build with the phone acting up. I toggle wifi when I'm done using it, so I don't know about having to reconnect, but it always has connected after toggling on just fine.

I had this same problem when I first flashed, but it no longer happens. I don't know what's changed, but at least I don't have to toggle WiFi off and on to get it back.
There are other quirks with these ROMs, but overall, I'm pretty happy with them.

Have you tried the sense version yet that was released this week?

I have, and even though it will be cool when newt finishes it, it's not quite ready to be a daily driver in its current state.

Both the 1.5 ics and 2.7 from liquid are smooth. I battery life on the 1.5 was amazing. So far the 2.7 is equally great and a little bit more stable. I had some funkyness on the 1.5aosp and swapped out to the 2.7 with nova launcher. So far so good, but non of the issues I had with aosp. Newts was a great build for playing with sense 4.0 but had poor battery life as expected. A lot of lockups as well. So far the most smooth I've used is 2.7 but the lack of video for camera and Skype sux, as well as no netflix. I hopefully soon we will send an update for those. I'd have to say though that the older liquid desensed build had more overall working parts with good all around smooth Ness and batt life.
