Hello everyone!

I have a Galaxy S5 SM-G900R7 that I would like to put cyanogenmod on. However, I'm new to rooting and custom flashing roms.

My carrier was nTelos (no longer in business in my area) so I'm not sure where to even begin as how little they are compared to ATT and Verizon. I have version 5.0 currently installed on it (I just wiped the user data and the cache from the recovery mode) so it is a fresh install.

Am I able to root this? I've looked for this online but come across nothing that I can make sense of to even attempt it.
Does the carrier type matter considering this device is no longer an active data using device(wifi only) ?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. If more information is needed to tell if i can root this, please let me know and ill provide it.

Looking for this too

Hello and welcome to Android Central derekb123

Whilst I have found some root methods for the G900R7 model on Android 4.4.2, (the original release firmware)....

GS5-ROOT METHOD USING -CF-AUTO-ROOT-

Four Easy Steps to Root Your SAMSUNG SM-G900R7 (kot49h.g900r7wwu2ank1) 4.4.2

However, I can find no root methods for Android 5.0, up to the latest, (237 days ago), release, OH1.

You could try using the CF-Auto-Root kernel for the Galaxy S5, G900R4. See, [SM-G900*] CF-Auto-Root
