My new standard S6 32GB is the first smartphone I have owned since the S2.

I'm wondering whether or not to return my handset as i'm not sure about the temperature of it. I am monitoring the CPU temp using CPU-Z. At idle, the phone is reaching between 38-44c. After 3 minutes of 4K recording, it's reaching around 80c and feels very warm, particularly around the camera area and the sides feel hot as well towards the top.

20 minutes on Racing Rivals pushes it towards the 60-70c bracket and general use like browsing and watching netflix pushes it to 55-65c.

Is this normal? If so, i'm happy to keep it, as generally, I don't use a phone to its max for very long anyway and it feels ice cold when just making and receiving calls. If not, i'm still in my guaratee period, so can get a replacment.

Thanks :)

It does get warm in games and while recording video

Yes 4k video recording will heat up any phone that can record in that resolution. Some even shut down after a few minutes to keep from overheating. Games and watching videos can also heat up phones significantly. As long as the phone is not shutting down it should be fine.

In that case. I think I will keep it then. I have a 14 day satisfaction period to return it, but I presume that outside of this, the phone comes with a standard years guarantee from Samsung?
