I know during the unpacked event they made it a big deal how the Samsung messenger app will have a lot more Google RCS features, and the app looked also different. My app looks identical to how it was on Android 10. Does anybody else app look different, are you seeing more RCS integrations within the program?

I don’t notice any difference at all and the messaging app still stinks. Immediately switched over to Google‘s messaging app. Such a shame that those of us in the United States don’t get the pre-installed Google messaging app like Samsung is giving to everyone else

I thought the Samsung app on UI3 was going to have RCS? We're doing Verizon phones for the 1st time since were new to Verizon and have had unlocked the past couple times and all Sprint phones prior.

I think they said in the reviews that the states didnt get that particular messaging app but most everyone else did.

I hate that we always get half baked stuff because of how the carriers, or big players in the game dictate things. So much fragmentation because of it.

Samsung SMS app is look the same. I mean, are they telling us to move over to Goggle messager?

The problem with not using Samsung messages is that you won't get a good messaging experience on their watches and tablets if you own all three. Samsung needs to get their act together and just start using Google messages.

This. Exactly this.

the rcs function worked on the s20 ultra in the UK with Samsung app but on here it's not active at all really let down by that

Along with gmail, dialer, duo, notes. Just some of the ones i prefer

I'm actually using Google messages now and I'm able to read and respond to messages on my galaxy watch 3. I switched for the rcs as all the picture messages I was getting were garbage. All screenshots sent to me were unreadable. Happy to see that google messages work with T-Mobile rcs. I have Verizon and can communicate with my friends using Samsung messages on T-Mobile which is great.

You can read and respond to messages on the watch as they come in, but there's no actual messaging app on the watch to read different threadsv when using Google messages.

I did the same, it's a shame that they talk so heavily about it in the unpacked event but yet the app doesn't look any different.

I'm excited to hear more about this new messaging app. Thanks for starting this thread, OP!

It looks little different to me, not sure though.

There is NO NEW messaging app. That’s the thread in a nutshell.

I didn't see anything that looked like a new messaging app either. There is one preinstalled called "Messages" but I wasn't too impressed by it. Instead, I'm using Textra.

From what I understand it's not a new app, just new RCS functionality in the Samsung app. I was using Google Messages on my old phone and now have been using stock app.

I haven't paid close enough attention to see if typing indicators are seen. I only have 2 people who usually send read receipts and I haven't text them on my new phone so haven't checked that yet. I am good with it so far and don't miss Google but I am keeping it just in case.
