New Saturation Settings (Thoughts)

After the Nov update on Pixel 2 XL what are your thoughts on the Saturation Settings.

I have found that the Boosted works best for me. I like the Saturated setting except I think it makes white backgrounds look to red.

I settled on Boosted also. It may be my imagination, but it appears to me to be a little more saturated than the previous "Vivid" setting. Has anyone seen figures from Google on the levels of saturation for the 3 new levels?

I tried Saturated for a while, and it some situations it was more fun. But in the end most things just seemed too cartoonish. The thing that made me switch back to Boosted was the red in the Gmail app, just seemed too much...

But is Boosted the same as the old Vivid? So far I haven't seen anything official from Google...

I don't think that's verified. AC should do a more detailed article comparing them to each other and to the pre-update colors.

Boosted seems to me to be a bit more juiced up than the previous Vivid, but unfortunately I don't have 2 phones to do a direct comparison with. And going from memory can be very unreliable. I could just be imagining this.

I hear that "boosted" is what "vivid" was... If that's true, that's hilarious

I'm pretty sure they'd said they'd be adding 'additional' color modes, not changing the original ones, so it's probably just a rename.

But Google should have had some fun with the names, poking fun at the expense of the hypersaturated displays.

Normal should have been "Actually lifelike"
Vivid/Boosted should have been "2 beers later"
Saturated should have been "Hanna Barbera"

Hahaha.. true.

Talk about a placebo.. IF it is infact the same.

I heard that since so many people said that the vivid setting seemed to do nothing Google upped it a little and called it boosted . . .

What I don't understand is they list the options out of sequence. It should from least to most or most to least.

Everything's different, boosted has a little increase to it, I miss the stock one

You realize boosted is what vivid colors was right?
That is absolutely not true... I had my Pixel 2 XL updated to November sitting next to my wife's Pixel 2 XL still on October. With both phones sitting next to each other, my Pixel set to Boosted was definitely more saturated than my wife's set to Vivid.

People are just assuming the Boosted mode is the same Vivid was.

I have mine set to Boosted, I like this one the best.

Read the fourth post above yours . . .

I wouldn't know since I'm still on the September version! I must have hit the 'Check for update' button a couple of hundred times already. I hope it's just rolling out slowly but I had problems like this on my 6P and Google's recommendation was to do a factory reset.

I got my 2xl about 4 days ago and I'm still on the September patch. I haven't received any updates yet. I traded in my 6p and on that phone I never got updates past August.

I tried the saturated and didn't like it so went back to boosted, which is what it was on by default after the update.
