New Saturation Settings (Thoughts)

LOL. Naming the mode "Saturated" is like Google being pissed off with the color scheme being requested by a lot of people that they called it as it is.

Just got the update. Love the Saturated mode. Glad they give the option now and listened to feedback. It's all about choice ..

i see boosted as pretty similar to natural, like barely much difference, maybe it was the old vivid???

and saturated as more samsung like

funny on saturated mode, I get little to no blue shift when i tilt to look for it

After the Nov update on Pixel 2 XL what are your thoughts on the Saturation Settings.

I have found that the Boosted works best for me. I like the Saturated setting except I think it makes white backgrounds look to red.

I have not gotten mine yet. What's up with that? I keep checking every so often but no update yet. I am too lazy to flash it.

I like saturated. I know natural and boosted is what Google had for the phone pre update but to me it seems saturated brought the screen to life. I'm happy that Google is now giving the choice to it's consumers.

I kind of agree with you on this, it makes things pop whether that's "real" or not, it pops

Are you enrolled in the beta program? If so, that is the reason.

Some not part of the beta / developer preview are still awaiting it as well. It's not pushed out to all devices at the same time and, contrary to Google's 'fixing' the CHECK FOR UPDATE so you could manually pull it down if it hadn't been pushed to yours yet, you may just need to wait for it. I believe I'd read devices should see it within 1 week.

I'm one of the unlucky ones who still doesn't have it. Hopefully I get it soon!

Finally got the update and I must say...I love the "saturated" mode. The colors pop!

I tried saturated again but it turns white into light yellow like the phone has one of those blue light filters on.

Just received the update on 2XL. I think they fixed the issue with colors with Boosted mode. The photos look natural without greenish tint they had before. Colors are also a bit more saturated than Vivid mode prior to the update.
Saturated mode, however, is screwed up -- oversaturated and has reddish tint. Pretty unpleasant to look at, actually. It feels like Google made it just to satisfy people who like oversaturated screens, and didn't care to calibrate colors.
I was thinking whether or not to return the phone, decided to keep it as there's no better Android phone available, even taking all issues with 2XL. 2 year warranty helps as well.

It's seems to make the screen warmer which in turn seems to minimize the blue.

I tried looking at some of my recent photos in all 3 modes, after which I selected "natural" as my default, since that was closest to the reality at the time when I took them. The "saturated" mode was unbearable to me. But each to their own, so it's good to have choices.

(Regular Pixel 2, rather than 2 XL).

Exactly....although I'm using boosted at the moment I prefer things on the more natural side and saturated is just too bold.

The odd thing for me is if I change modes and forget which mode I'm in I don't even think about it enough to really notice.

Isn't the point of getting a Pixel is that you should be getting timely updates? Are they still testing out the November update such that they aren't sure that everyone should have it yet? Is anyone having problems with their phone after the November update?

I was telling one of their support reps who was telling me the update would be coming from Verizon that I thought by buying an unlocked one from the Google store, that meant the updates would come directly from them. I don't remember this delay with my Nexus 6P at all. I did sideload the November update myself with no issues and haven't had any issues since doing that. If every month is going to be like this, at least I know now I can sideload whereas before I was too scared to even try it.
