New shield owner

Im planning on getting the shield pro as my main media player,

Will it allow me to play movies via my hdd? My movies are usually 20gb and up and are bluray copy,

Will it lag or will it play smoothly?

I have some files > 10gb playing from a USB drive without problems. The internal drive should work even better.
