So, pleasant surprise this Sunday, my international unlocked Galaxy SII reported a new update available. No, it's not 4.2.2, sorry, just some kind of stability improvement. The download was about 50MB in size, so not a full firmware, but not small either. The over the air method kept failing for me, so ended up having to do it using the KIES desktop app.
I'm currently running the a Nordic/Baltic based firmware I believe. With the update the phone is now at:
Android Version: 4.1.2 (no change)
BaseBand version: I9100XXMS4 ( was I9100XXMS2 I believe )
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-1418025 ( was 3.0.31-1156082 I believe )
Build number: JZO54K.I9100XWMS1 ( not sure what the original was maybe JZO54K.I9100XWLSS )
So far haven't noticed any change, time will tell if bluetooth is any more stable for connecting handsfree and if the alarm clock widgets don't lock up.
