New software update: VRALHE

Still not a major update but thanks for the heads up.
Wishing there can be some update to the radio if possible, in the near future.

can anyone post or PM me the update.zip file? i'm stuck and can't pull updates and i cannot get to a verizon store for a new sim card

I was having the update issue. I went to Verizon store and had my sim card swapped out. The update was pushed immediately. Now I'm all updated! Sweet

Yeah, I read here that's what people did. I just came back from the store. It was a 10 minute process. The previous update I guess crippled my sim from receiving future updates. New sim fixed it. No need to factory reset.

My question now is what exactly did this update do?? Lol

Has anyone installed this update OVER rooted VRLG7? If so, what was the process?

The last update just mysteriously appeared one night for me. No notification, nothing. I just awake in the morning to a message that I had been updated. Luckily, Voodoo OTA rootkeeper restored root.

That update made my WiFi connect reliably. So it was very welcome.

Is there a risk of a 'crash and burn' if an update like this shows up, and you are stock, rooted?
I guess I should take the time to learn how to turn off auto updates, since I hate not being given a choice.

YES. I'm actually surprised yours went OK the first time. If you've just rooted the stock OS with no changes, it will probably work fine, however if you've installed a custom recovery (as most root tutorials will have to do), you run a very high risk of soft-bricking the device. Take the advice on these forums and disable the OTA updates. Remember, with root comes great responsibility, including managing your devices updates yourself.

I lost all my contacts....

They should all be synced to your Google account. If you don't sync with your Google account (or at least some other service like Verizon Backup Assistant*), then let this be a lesson to you: don't ever keep your important data in only one place!

*don't use Verizon Backup Assistant...seriously, just sync your contacts with your Google account.

i hadn't been able to download the last two updates, but when i got home turned on my wifi suddenly the update happen...not sure why? but i called verizon about it, the might have possibly forced it to my phone since i was having the sim card problem as well

I am stock rooted but for some reason this time the update wont stick. It has updated OTA the previous two times. I hope I dont have to unroot just to install this update. I keep getting a red triangle everytime I try the update. Any ideas?

Yes, I'm 100% stock rooted, just so I can freeze some bloatware. My SIII is working very well so I have no reason to mess with ROMs.

Is anyone here still on F2? I have had no issues what so ever with my phone, so I have not updated any OTA updates. I am not going to "fix" what is not broken. The updates to date seem so minor that I am not going to risk "introducing" problems on my phone.
