Thanks! I agree I am not a fan of the micro sales too, I don't mind paying for a good app, but not extras afterwords.

Yes you can play... you buy credits for extra backgrounds and card styles. Similar to what in app purchases will do.

I love the app. While you have to pay a subscription fee for some of the online options, it plays just fine online without them. Just sign up for the free online account.
