New Sprint Plans

Here is my T-Mobile bill this coming month with 8 dollar insurance for both phones. T-mobile no contract shared plan.
My line has unlimited data and my wife line has 2.5GB data. Our Plan has unlimited talk, text, mobile hotspot, free Wifi calling.

Yeah it would be either cheaper or near the same as to what I pay now.. But I'd have LTE for Tmobile.. Which I do for Sprint in most places.. But the 4g HSPA backup would smoke Sprints 3g for sure.. So all in all better network experience.

Ugh.. Damn it :o. Lol.

Don't forget that T-Mo has no sub 1GHz spectrum, doesn't help them much on the fringe areas and in building. Plus the AT&T roaming is kinda pathetic and useless in many areas around the country. Only place I've ever had the AT&T roaming work was in Paris, TN and T-Mo was supposed to have EDGE, but there was no coverage at all... My question is why would you be moved to the All In plan instead of the $80? If you don't use tethering then there's no reason to move up.

That might be true. However, from what I have seen here
1700mhz lte penertrates pretty well here. I still get great
Data speeds 18 feet underground surrounded by concrete at work. This is the same place where our old company nextels
With 800mhz iden. Would not pick up a signal. Check out the tmobile section. There is a discussion about people's experiences with tmobile and building penertration.

Sprint also is currently deploying LTE on 1900mhz. Which has lesser signal propagation than Tmobiles lte.

Well as we talked about I'd probably have to move up one day because the way they are saying "guaranteed for life" and "lock in" unlimited data... Sounds like they are going away with it from normal plans sometime in the future.

The $80 plan I'm talking about is basically the All In plan minus the tethering.

HawaiiD: Ok so I typed out an entire post, walked away from my computer, and it restarted to install updates... I'm just going to type a quick summary. I'd love to know how far the Nextel tower was from you VS the T-Mo, 1700 will never penetrate as well as 800. T-Mobile is pathetic in the continental US, outside urban areas things degrade quick into EDGE and no coverage, just go zoom in and look at the coverage maps for Ohio and see how much is 2G or not covered. I've watched them "improve" their network first hand over the past 10 years, they still can't get tower spacing right in my area so calls don't drop. Either way you look at it when it comes to spectrum Sprint is in a much better position, 800 SMR for far reaching and building penetrating coverage, 1900 PCS for a mix of capacity and penetration, and 2500/2600 ClearWire spectrum for densely packed urban areas for blazing fast speeds. It's the most comprehensive approach to current and future network demands. Aren't you on S4GRU?

Oh yeah I could go to that but it doesn't do anything for me.. The only reason I'd want an all in plan is for the guaranteed unlimited data they offer. Only if you go with the all in option will you get this guarantee. I am just concerned if I stay where I am what if they go away with unlimited and I don't have the guarantee.. Just paranoia but I like my unlimited.

The 80 dollar plan is one of the new plans... It has the guarantee. It's called Unlimited My Way. BlackBerry 10 with Truly Unlimited Data from Sprint here, the BB10 landing has them both side by side.

what I want to see is Sprint go with something like the "Jump" that T-mobile has started. The way I understand it you pay a bit more per month and that entitles you to upgrade phones every six months.

Be wary of these new phone upgrade "deals." They're actually charging full retail for the upgrade phones, just spreading out the payments.

Yeah, they just rearrange numbers, but it's not really a deal. Who needs to upgrade every six months? I upgrade once a year. I alternate subsidized pricing and Craig's list. T Mobile's new plans are competing against straw men.

It's a bit insane considering you lose everything that you paid on the phone you're trading in too.

Oh wow.. I feel so STUPID. I thought I had to get the all in my way one ($110) since it said it's for individuals but includes that hotspot that I don't need...

Checked the other one it says $80 (the 450 plan said $79.99) so.. I just changed. I basically have unlimited with the mobile to mobile but for no price change or contract extension... I figured why not get fully unlimited everything.

So now I have fully unlimited everything and their unlimited guarantee thing.

It's all good, the way the share type plans are structured make it seem like they're family plan only. I'll be sticking with my Everything Data plan, I need the roaming and I got in on the 300 bonus minutes promotion, so I have 750 landline minutes that I'll never use.

Does the new plans not allow roaming? I know data is always capped for roaming but can you still make calls without charges? I remember driving through the mountains roaming and calling people without worry or charges.

Always a possibility, but my view is that this is their way of saying "No matter what other carriers do, we are NOT going to cap data."

Yeah, they are responding to concerns, not trying to incite them.

I guess so. I switched anyway to the unlimited My Way plan.. So now same bill but unlimited everything with the guarantee thingy.

You get 800 minutes (****-load) a month for roaming calls...I'm not sure on data.

You still have roaming, but the data allowance was cut from 300MB on the old plans to 100MB on the new ones.

My view is that this is their way of saying, "No matter what other carriers do, we are going to do a huge bait and switch and charge you more for the same service you had before".

They know how to make more money while providing less service and trying to convince everyone that it's "better, easier and no hassles.... and by the way, we love babies and puppies". The only reason I've been with Sprint for 10 years is the huge corporate discount I get. Once that goes away and I am paying more than with other carriers, I go away too. It's really too soon to start complaining too much. We'll see how it all plays out.

Ah yeah I'll be okay. I rarely roam and 800s roaming minutes will cover me :).

Do you have a family or individual plan?
