New Swype Beta 3.0 Released

Looks like the devs at Swype were listening. They got rid of the annoying popup window in favor of the more usable horizontal word choice bar, and have made several other changes as well.

I've been using FlexT9, but will give this new Swype a try.

Little jumpy as the horizontal suggestions row pops in and out but I like it better than than the pop-up window.

The new suggestion box is cool, I never really cared about the pop up at all. I cannot ever go back to having to actually pick my finger up. I tried the few times I went to Aosp and it was a headache texting while driving lol. Yes I do know that it is illegal...

I could careless that it's illegal just more on the fact that there are more fatal crashes texting than there is calling. Get

It's nice that it fixed some issues. When I installed the android keyboard on old version swype sometimes lost the dictionary. I also had to restart app initially after reboot.

use titanium backup to back it up. then uninstall and install the new beta. worked for me

Working on Harmonia here too. Also backed up the original before installing but have had no problems.

When I enter text longer than three lines (edit: in Google Voice, that is), the suggestions bar covers over what I'm typing. Epic fail, Swype devs. I should've used Titanium Backup on the previous version of Swype, in retrospect. Anyone know how to downgrade?

Edit: is this the most recent version before 3.0?

Edit again: dangit, it just prompts me to install the new Swype Installer. Does anyone have an apk of a recent previous Swype version?

My swype beta is still a v2 despite updating it... don't know why it won't download v3... I've even redownloaded from the beta.swype website as recently as this morning.

I feel like an idiot. That did the trick. Wish they'd have made that installation requirement clearer... because I did run the installer, have it check for and download an update, install the update, etc...
