Hi everyone,
New to the forum and had a question. I bought my first smartphone back in December, got myself the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Love this phone. I've read up enough to root and unlock it. Currently, I'm running Jellybean AOSP JR003L on it. I wanted to know if I leave this ROM alone, will i get updates from Google when they have the latest updates available since it's not tweaked?

Thanks for all the help so far! This forum has been a great source of knowledge for me as I ventured out to getting an android phone and then venturing further into rooting, unlocking and flashing.

Nope. If you're running a custom ROM and custom Recovery, you won't get OTA's from Verizon. You'll have to got back to stock first.

Hi Jean Paul,
Thanks for your response. Even if I don't tweak the rom and it was straight from Google, I can't receive OTA updates from Google when they're done with the next AOSP LTE update? I'm not too worried about Verizon since I flashed to get away from them. I thought my phone may be closer to being a pure Google phonee, like the unlocked phones you can buy straight from Google.
