ok, my phone was running DI01 so i updated to DL09 the other day and rooted my fascinate...got titanium backup and backed everything up, got root explorer and renamed bloat and moved to sd card, removed advanced task killer...now what?!

my battery life doesn't seem to be much better, is there something else i need to do for that?

i have the quadrant standard app on my phone and ran it last night and since the root, it is way down from what it was stock?

i have been browsing and reading as much as i can in the forums, but a lot of things are tough to understand since i am a n00b regarding stuff like this...

any advice or tips and tricks anyone wants to throw in here will be much appreciated...i am not being lazy, i have been reading the forums with the majority of my free time here at work...

thanks all!

Kernels are going to be mostly responsible for performance and battery life as they handle the hardware. Go get ROM Manager from the market and try out different ones in the Sonofskywalker3 section. I'm personally a fan of Stupidfast v1.54. DJ05 kernels will still work on your DL09 system, even though most are made for both.

It doesn't really matter what you remove... battery life sucks period. Removing any task killer is moving to a good start.

Flash jts supa clean rom for dl09 and use one of the 12/30 kernels out there. Then flash a new theme,

If you're interested in running non stock boot animations stupidfast 1.54 I think it is doesn't support them, I had Bluetooth issues with 12/30. My quadrant is about 910 I can't remember which one I'm running off hand, but it is a test kearnel and I haven't had any issues.

As for more practical advice, When you are home or within range of Wifi switch to using wifi.

if you do not need widgets updated constantly or mail pushed right away i suggest disabling background data. this is great if you leave your phone on at night not plugged in or in a movie or somwhere that you are not going to be checking anything that has to do with data. to do this
Settings>accounts and sync>uncheck background data.... this will not prevent phone calls or text messages.

Use black wall paper

keep screen brightness as low as possible when not needed
