Hello! My name is Zach and just recently got my Galaxy S3 and love it. However, I am not familiar with Android phones at all, I used to be an Apple guy but I done with that for now and so far I really love my Galaxy.

However, I do have a question. Like with an Apple device, when you plug into iTunes, it will inform you that there is an update available for the phone, how does that work with Android phones? How will I know when to update my phone and where would I do that? Any information will be awesome! Thanks guys...and girls!

Not sure what route Samsung will go for updates. You'll either be prompted by a notification that an OTA is ready, check in the settings to see if an update is available, or be notified (not sure how) to use Kies to update your phone.

With android it is a carrier notification. Apple controls the iPhone 100 percent, and most androids are not controlled by Google. Apple=update via them, android=update via third party wireless retailer.

Awesome thanks a lot! I do have one more question.

I have downloaded an app called "MP3 Ringtone Maker" by Luckystar. It lets you download all kinds of songs to your phone, and use them to make ringtones. It is the full version of the song and there tons that you can download. Now where have I read or been prompted about being charged for what you download or anything like..I have even tried to review it online and I can't find anything. I see good reviews but I do not see where anyone says anything about needing to pay for it..whether it be through credit card or just billed straight to AT&T. If you guys have any information where I could find this out or how I can make sure I am not going to be charged for what I download, I would appreciate it!

I doubt that app sources content legally.
