Question My wireless lavalier mic works on sound recorder app, but not when recording videos. Help me pls!

Hi gang.

I've bought a plug-in lapel mic from ebay. It works on the sound recorder app that came preloaded with my phone, but not with the video recording app (also preloaded). Has anyone had the same problem?

I have a motorola e14. The permissions on the video app show the microphone enabled.

Welcome to Android Central forums. It could be that the built in camera app is coded to use the device mics so things like sound isolation, or directional sound features work. Have you tried a different camera app?

When I Googled, Android camera apps that work with external mics, Google just happened to pop up a confirmation of what I was saying above.



Anyway, the result also gave a link to this Reddit post asking this same question. I don't read everything I find for people but there are likely suggestions here.
