New to Andriod-Help with notification tones

I have made the switch from my iPhone 5 to the S4 and I love it. My question is can I have a different notification tone for my email and text messages? I have them set differently, I think, but it defaults to the setting under sounds. I am using AT&T messaging for visual voicemail but I set the notification tone in my Messages menu but it is still the same as the email alert. Any help with this would be great.

Basically, instead of setting your notification tones within the system settings, go ahead and change the settings within each app. So for your email alert, go into the email app you're using and change the sound there.
