Hey guys im new here...and to Android for that matter :p
I am loving it here and now i need some advice.

I have read up on how to root my new Droid 2, i have been thinking about doing it with the easy 1-2-3 method from the xda forums or possible even manually.

How ever i have been wondering if i should, how easy is it to unroot? if so what would the process for unrooting be? Also is there an upcoming update that would "break" the root?

One last thing i have heard about Z4root...i was wondering if this method is a reliable and easy as it seems?

Thanks in advance guys!

Z4 is pretty good and can be used to unroot if needed in say go for the 1 click method most reliable in my opinion

Well i tried z4root and it worked. what should i back my stuff up with...Apps and rom?

Thanks a lot! By any chance is there a place that has a good guide on how to use these two things and for that matter where to star with the post rooting operations?

Z4Root

Can someone please send me Z4root and explain how to use it, i'm new to this whole root thing. Thanks for the help!

Both applications are very easy to use bootstrap has two buttons. One is to install the recovery the other is to reboot into recovery. Titanium is another easy apologize you open it and once you have accepted root privileges it will show you a list of apps a long press on any app brings up a popup which gives you the option to backup restore freeze or uninstall an app. Once their backed up if you ever uninstall the app you will see the backed up apps at the bottom. Both of these apps are great

I'm running z4root and all it is saying is "Running exploit in order to obtain root access...", its been doing this for a while, should I restart or let it run its course?

should probably note I downloaded it to my pc, emailed it to myself and opened the file through gmail...will this have any bearing on if it works or not?

Thanks guys. i have been spending day and night studying all there is to know about android and rooting. XDA and the Droid forums rock. they had all i need. i now know all i need to. thanks again guys!
