Well after downloading Companionlink and then uninstalling Android-sync, I found out that when I uninstalled A-S, it also deleted everything form Outlook, except my contacts. My calendar and notes are completely gone.

WTF is up with that A-S. I still have all my notes and calendar on my phone(Samsung S4), but how do I get them back into outlook so that they'll sync with Companionlink?

Again, NMD, everything is back. I guess I'll try and sync with Companion first, then uninstall A-S. "scratches head"

Please be cautious with CompanionLink if you change from Windows 7 to Windows 8 as I did - my paid registration is gone and now I cannot sync any more. Until this change CL was OK considering that Android on my Galaxy s2 is bit messy (multiple non synchronized calendars/contacts and such things)

CompanionLink supports Windows 7, Windows 8, and the new Windows 8.1. Registration (a sales/billing issue) shouldn't affect product functionality. If you PM me your details, I can work with you to figure out why the product is not syncing for you. It's likely a technical reason.

Has anyone been able to sync a Samsung Galaxy S4 (or any Samsung) with Outlook on a Mac? I have tried Kies - it seems to be fine for what it does - except it only has the option to sync with iCal. I use Outlook. The rest of my office is on PC, my department uses Outlook to sync calendars. I need to sync that calendar with my S4. I will even settle for it working with my S3 if I have to. Any suggestions? Kies connects and transfers files - I even did a backup just for kicks. Just cannot do Outlook on my Mac.

What about Android-Sync or CompanionLink that I am reading about on here? Does anyone know if either of them are compatible with Mac OSX (10.8.5)? I really didn't want to have to pay for a software to do what should be as easy as connecting a usb - Samsung just didn't think about all of us when developing Kies.

Outlook for Mac doesn't have an API that developers can use to integrate data with. With OS X 10.8.5, Apple's SyncServices feature allows data to flow between the Mac Contacts/Calendar apps and Outlook for Mac. This, along with CompanionLink for Mac, will get Samsung devices synchronized to Outlook for Mac.

Here's how the sync looks:
S4 <> CompanionLink for Mac <> OSX Contacts app and Calendar app <> SyncServices <> Outlook for Mac

With OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), Apple did away with the SyncServices feature. Here's their article about that change. So if you have upgraded to Mavericks, I don't know of a way to do it.

ugh - basically . . . I am just technologically S O L ;-)

I love my Mac - even though I am the only one in the office with one. -keeps IT from getting too bored- We chose Mac to run my graphics software and test out some other things as well. I have to use Outlook to sync my calendar with the rest of my department - so iCal isn't the solution - otherwise Kies would've done it.

The Android/Galaxy phones are mine - I refuse to go to iPhone. We've had them in the past - and - just NO.

I haven't moved to Mavericks just yet - still waiting for better reviews - most things are good now - don't wanna mess with it. Didn't want to mess with Android either - but somehow I okayed 4.3 update last week. oh well :-/

Okay. I'm also frustrated with trying to link my Outlook calendar through Kies3 to my three-week old G4. It worked initially, but now shows an error message after it times out on the PC. I've reinstalled the Kies3 program several after uninstalling it, thinking it may be a faulty download. The contacts transfer okay, except it reversed many of the names so that they sorted first name, last name on my PC. What a pain! Does CompanionLink work? And where can I get a coupon?

This is a known problem been around for a few months and nothing you or anyone else can do anything about until Samsung/Android take our complaints seriously and do something about it. basically when we upgraded our phones to the new Android OS 4.3 we were asked to upgrade to Kies 3 and that's when the problem started. You cannot sync your Outlook calender with your Samsung S4 using Samsung's recommended program Kies 3 as claimed and advertised simply because it just does not work. Samsung admits this but for months now will not commit to a date when we can expect a Kies upgrade that will work. Meantime you can either do nothing and sit and wait or you can download and pay for another app that will do the job. Check other threads on this forum for the names of these apps.

I have been searching for how to sync corperate exechage outlook task to my Samsung galaxy S4.. now i figure out by my self.

email/calendar /tasks can all be sync automatically over the air. no need extra install extra apps.

1. for email, it's easy, just set up account.

2. for calendar, once email setup, it will show in s-planner. it comes with my S4.

3. for tasks, which bothered me most of the time, only today i found it's built in s-planner. the tab at right bottom.

Do not buy COMPANIONLINK...it is unreliable, their support, (sic), is non-existent and while the price may be low...so is the service and quality of the product.

I have never had any problems with Companion Link. Been using it for 4 years. First with a Palm Pre and now with my Samsung GS3.

I am in the exact same boat as ReformediOS User except I am coming from Blackberry (I know, I know ....)... I d/l'ed Kies but not sure what to do from there. You said add a new account to my Mail App ... do you mean Outlook? And why do I do that? ...after that, now how does Kies come in to play?!?!? So confused!!! Aaaaagghhh....

It's pretty much the same as iOS, go into your Mail App and go to settings to add a new account. Kies is very similar to iTunes -- better in my opinion. You can plug both phones in at the same time and transfer most data
