New to android....what is accounts and Sync?

I just bought the Galaxy 3. I am reading the owners manual and I cannot figure out exactly what the accounts and sync option does. Can someone help me with this? Thanks!!!

even if its wrong forum its fine dude!!! sync is what keeps your cloud and your phone data in sync.

pretty much it makes it easy for you to have the same stuff (music, video, books, mags, browser tabs, etc.) available to you on any android or chrome os system that you might have.
