Login to Gmail on a computer and look at your Contacts there. This is the best place (easiest) to pretty-ify your Contacts.
Getting them into Google the first time is a pain. If you are on Outlook, you can try exporting them to Gmail (login to Gmail on a computer and see what format it wants, ,csv I think). It will still require massaging from Gmail to fix them up pretty the first time, but then with my previous post, the work from your phone, you should be set.
