New to Droid: Ringtone Question

I'm new to Droid and loving all the features and slowing getting through the learning curve. I purchased a number of ringtones ... on my old phone I could assign my music ringtone to notify me of text received and also I could attach a different song ringtone to each GROUP of contacts. I can't seem to do either on my new droid razr. Does anyone know how to do this or if it's even possible? Thanks
