Hi All,

Two days ago, I officially became an Android user. And it took me only 1 day to screw myself. Here's the problem:

I rooted my new Eris and immediately started unloading what I thought was dead weight (Amazon MP3, Google Talk, Teeter, Twitter, Facebook). As I soon came to find out, there are some dependencies on these applications that serve the overall functionality of the phone.

The first problem I immediately encountered was an error message: "process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly." I did a factory reset and factory wipe, but to no avail. After scouring the internet, it seemed like the best way to correct this was to reinstall the 2.1 firmware. I tried flashing with PB00IMG.zip but could not being that the version already on the device was a newer version.

I took this a step further and flashed with 2.3 Gingerbread which worked, but is super slow and buggy.

So this is where I'm at. At this point, I think it'd be best to just completely reviriginize the phone, reverting completely to all factory settings with all original apps intact. If someone could provide some instructions or a link explaining the best way (if possible) to do this, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Update: Found PB00IMG.zip V3 but got "Main Version is older! Update Fail!" Error. Any ideas how to get around this?

I would just install xtrSENSE. It's basically stock, but overclocked and with a technology called cache2cache, which allows a great deal more space for user apps and data.

Download xtrSENSE5.0.1.zip, copy it to your SD card, restart in Recovery, and do the following:

- backup/restore menu
- nandroid backup (just in case)
- return to main menu
- wipe menu
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache
- return to main menu
- flash a zip menu
- choose xtrsense5.0.1.zip
- restart the phone

xtrSENSE is here: [ROM][GPL][3/15/2011] xtrSENSE5.0.1 [cache2cache,apps2sd,oc,jit]-HTC Sense - xda-developers
