New to Hero & Android

I've made the switch and thus far am very happy (< than 24 hours) but already I can do things on my Pre without having to hack it to high hell.

I am a little bummed it can't be rooted yet tho.

Any pointers / advice / must have apps I need to know about?

I'd prefer a quick access task manager (perhaps a PRESS and HOLD function would be nice, I need to investigate if I can assign key presses).

I recommend TaskPanel X, you can set it up to run based on a mb threshold and at timed intervals.

I have a post here telling you how to set it up. You can also set it up to show up in the notifications bar for quick access.
