New to LTE and have an issue maybe?

So while on 4G I normaly have 3-4 bars of strength and while browsing on my phone I'll lookup and there is nothing not signal at all. Yet everything works just fine data wise.If I reboot they'll come back or if I toggle airplane mode.This happens with both wifi off and on. I don't know if this is normal considering LTE in my area is still in testing. Anyone have any thoughts on this, or have seen this on your phone as well.
