New to Smartphone and Android

Hi, smart Android users. I'm Pam and recently got a Samsung Gravity with T-mobile and have been trying to figure it out. I'm one of those people who like user manuals but didn't get one with this. Your posts have helped but create more questions. I'm really a newbie-no idea what "root' is, for example. Certainly not a computer expert. Trying now to figure out how to upload photos to my pc.
