New to tablets and smart phones

have been in the "computing world" for over 40 years, using everything from large scientific/engineering computer systems (no IBM main frames) to embedded micro-controllers, but until recently, no "smart" phones or tablets.

I just recently purchased a Amazon Fire 8HD (after owning a Fire 7 for a year and not finding it "satisfying"). The experience between the original Fire 7 and the current Fire 8HD is AMAZING ! Most of the credit goes to the HD IPS display and the stereo sound. Plus, by keeping the speed down, battery life is excellent !
