Hello Everyone!!!! I need your help. I have the Samsung Galaxy S7. I recently checked my phone and saw that there was a new update available so I updated my phone. Everything updated fine. However, I don't like the new look. Is there a way to go back? Is there a way to make the phone look like it did before the update?

I've heard that AT&T phones can be more of a pain to flash, but don't have any direct experience with it. Hopefully someone else here can chime in about the process.

What parts of the new "look" do you not like? It's possible you can tweak them using suggestions from the forum if you give us more info.

I don't like the new icons. I like the old icons. Plus whenever I get a notification such as a text message or a notification from Facebook Messenger or lets say Whatsapp it doesn't show up at the top of the screen for a few seconds and then disappear like it used to. I also don't like what the screen looks like when you call someone now. I liked what the screen looked like when you called someone before the new update.

A few quick thoughts:
1) if you don't like the current icons, go to Settings->Wallpapers and Themes and there is a new Icons sections where you can try different designs. Or use another launcher like Nova and download Icon packs from the Play Store which will work with Nova. Maybe you will find something more to your liking.
There is also a setting under Display to change the Icon Frames. If you turn off the forced squircles, that may address your dislike of most of the icons (this puts a square frame around all of your icons, regardless of app).
2) I don't use either Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp, so I can't speak to that issue. Will let someone else provide input there.

I don't like any of the different designs in the icons section. The problem is I don't like any of the new picture icons. The phone picture icon was changed, the messages picture icon was changed, the email picture icon was changed, the gallery picture icon was changed, the gallery picture icon was changed, the camera picture icon was changed, the clock picture icon was changed, and the my files picture icon was changed. I want the picture icons that were on my phone before the new update. I don't care about the icon frames. I care about what the picture icon looks like.

As a workaround, you could consider installing an alternate launcher like Nova (which is excellent), and then look for an icon pack that suits your preference.

Samsung also has a theme store with a wide variety of available themes... when my wife got her S7, I went out and applied a 'stock' theme pack... but I've absolutely despised Samsung's stylistic choices since I turned on my S3 for the first time.

So I went to Settings > Wallpapers and themes > Icons > My Black Icons and I found one that I really liked. It's called BlackOn_Icon. It's the closet thing to the previous version. Most of the icons are the icons from the previous version. There are a couple of icons that are different but I can make do with it. I really wish Samsung gave everyone the option whether or not they want to install the new update. I really hate how they force you to install the new update.
