I just installed the November 1 2017 update, build NPN25.137-93 on my G5Plus. I am now getting this pink square in upper left corner of a blank screen (see attached pic).



how do I uninstall system update to remove this problem?

Is this your homescreen after the update?
Can you swipe down to access the notification and quick settings ?

the screen just appears with the square. as of today, two different patterns are now in the mix also:

i can get past these screens and use my phone normally. my concern is that the square appears on screen while i'm sleeping and will eventually burn into the screen.

i would really like to get rid of these annoying squares!

That's odd indeed. Maybe try wiping your cache partition (or as a last resort do a factory reset) to see if that resolves it.

Maybe a factory reset will help you get rid of this problem. Hope everything is fine after you reset your phone.

okay...so the issue has been identified, and remedied. I did do a reset, and as it turns out, the reset probably wasn't necessary. I had an app called NoLED which I wasn't using, but evidently was triggered with the update. after resetting the phone, I was in the process of reinstalling apps when I came across NoLED. I didn't reinstall the app, and the problem no longer exists.

thanks for the suggestions - next time I'll try to do a better job of figuring out if an app is causing problems.

I purchased my g5plus a month ago from Amazon and it came with the May 2017 security patch installed.

Just got Jan 2018 security update OTA. Moto is slow but at least is still sending them. And G5 series will eventually get Oreo.

Just purchased a new G5 Plus, from Costco for $175, 32 GB. Within two days received 5 security updates including Jan 2018.

Love the phone, works great on wifi, marginal LTE using Red Pocket Verizon service, plus quick GPS. Great upgrade from Moto G4 Play.
