Got the June 1 security update today as well...

According to XDA discussions, the Oreo soak test to MFN users just started today in various regions around the world... that means 30-45 days before roll-out to regular users, assuming no significant issues.

Yep, some Google+ communities in Brazil confirmed the soak test (8.1).

Soak test has begun in India too, read about it in the Motorola G+ forums (India) and XDA.

From the articles on various sites, it seems that we will be getting the Pixel Launcher after the update. I wonder if it is true.

Not sure about the launcher, but I saw a couple of screenshots from the G5S+ after the update and Launcher3 showed up. I'll ask around later and let you know.

Feeling curious because one Moto Z model did get the Pixel Launcher some months back according to users on the Motorola Users Forum India. I am not a member there so could not confirm with those who are on MFN and posted screenshots of Moto Display, Moto Actions , About Phone and Quick Settings pages from the G5 Plus soak test.Those posts were removed later.

I am sorry, it wasn't a Z model but G4 Play which seems to have got the Pixel Launcher with April 2018 Security Patch. Here's the link to the video but I don't know whether it is genuine information. I can't be sure because in Settings > App info for Pixel Launcher the person doesn't show the part where it says 'Installed from Play Store' or 'Installed from Package Installer'

So that's what they mean by Pixel Launcher in those articles

Anyway, I will be happy when 8.1 arrives. Having shortcuts will be great. Nova is always there for customisation

Definitely after Android 9 (Pie) has been released, because that's already happened for Pixel 2 users. But nobody here can give you an accurate answer about the release date. We know that 8.1 is currently being soak-tested in Brazil and India, for (at least some) people on the Motorola Feedback Network. But we don't know how long it will take for the soak test to become a general release - and then there's the question of how fast it will spread to each region. Keep monitoring the forums and you'll be able to see when the release starts and how fast it is progressing.

I got the notification for the 8.1 system update around noon Indian time.
Downloaded the update just after reaching home.
Now going to install it.
Hope you all get the 8.1 soon too.

I am just going through the settings. I think I am going to like it. It will take time to go through it but I will come back and update the thread
