If it were my phone doing that, I'd do a factory reset, but this thread reads like that's a bit more than you should try doing by yourself. Take it to verizon and work with a rep. You need more hands on help than the back and forth this thread is providing.

I was hoping not to factory reset since 1 i dont know if all my stuff is backed up and 2. just dont want to have to re download everything

Do a reset without a full "FACTORY RESET"


Take the batt out....

Put it back in.... (DO NOT PUT THE BATT COVER BACK ON YET!)

Boot up phone...When you hear "DROOOOID" Pull the batt again...

put batt back in then you should be set!.. No loss of data, contacts, apps, nothing! reset without the full reset....

Your super high tech phone is losing battery life because it is dirty. Run through the dish washer and it should be good to g

If you take the phone to Verizon, they should be able to back up what you want prior to doing the factory reset. No need for you to worry.. just make sure you know your google email and password...
