Data plans:

* 2GB – $30/month
* 5GB – $50/month
* 10GB – $80/month

If you would like to add tethering on to any of those packages, you can purchase 2GB of data at an additional cost of $20 per month.

Data plans w/ tethering:

* 4GB – $50/month
* 7GB – $70/month
* 12GB – $100/month

I am seriously considering just getting a dumb phone, I can stop by a Starbucks to check email on my laptop or wait to check email when I get home. Verizon is trying their best to kill the smartphone market.

Wow. People will be dumping smartphones like crazy. In this market people can not afford to pay prices like that.

That is ridiculous for the data plans! I would rather jump ship to AT&T then go to Verizon now. Even though they both suck in my area as far as coverage goes. But looking at these plans, AT&TS $15 for 200mb and $25 for 2 GB is much more reasonable. I know its only a $5 difference, but still. That can add up over time.

But until that times comes, i will be keeping my unlimited with Sprint.

I will be grandfathered in with something that is for sure...idk what yet but it will be TB Charge or Revo

Yeah, it sucks so bad i'm no longer waiting for the Droid Bionic and just getting the Droid X2 on the 29th of June... unless the Droid 3 comes out before tiered data.

These plans are a joke. Pay more get less, what a deal. And there's no reason other than profiteering why tethering costs extra. If I pay for 2 gigsnit should be mine to use any way I want. I understand the argument against tethering with unlimited plans because that can getnout of hand for use age but for a hard cap with the overage fees you should do what you want with it.

Verizon has no shame, until there is a mass exodus they will just keep finding ways to increase profits; Pure and simple greed. Get ready to hold on to your ankles, it's going to be a long ride!

These plans indeed suck, what is verizon thinking. You will hit 2gb's on the 4g LTE network in your sleep. Seriously this is a joke. 30 bucks for 2gb's, fricking pathetic.

They've made it even worse for international data. The plans are either 30mb or 70mb. 70mb for $100! It was unlimited last summer. Now I have to break out my Blackberry for my trip because I'm bound to use less data on it in Europe because it does less.

I have been with the same phone company since my first cell phone (1989), first it was called "PacTel" which later morphed to "Airtouch Cellular", then it became what is now known as "SuckmedryVerizon". I have been a loyal customer, but their "greed" is really starting to annoy me! I am fortunate in that I can afford the increase, but I choose not to on principle. My business is 90% by email, and I am out in the field the majority of the day. I however, do not have a problem stopping by a starbucks to check my email on my laptop, periodically throughout the day if need be. Rant over........................

Talk about throwing salt in the wound. Verizon is becoming a bunch of greedy, egotistical bastards. 4G LTE along will eat up a lot of data and from what I hear, Verizon will charge you overage if you go over. No throttling or anything.

I think I'll just bite the bullet and hassle with Sprint instead. At least T-Mobile offers way more flexibility and only throttles data.

Wireless industry is becoming a joke. Where's the effing FCC when you "really" need them.

I think this is the icing on the cake for me. I've been a loyal Verizon customer for over a decade and it looks like it's time to jump ship when my contract is up (if I don't end it sooner and pay the early term. fee just to get out).
I will honestly say their coverage is second to none, but their customer service and business practices are immoral and just getting worse.
Verizon is the new Exxon/Mobil :eek:

I've heard that they are going to tier 3g aswell... Are these the prices across the board? Or just for 4g?

I agree. I just did an early upgrade so I could lock in unlimited data for another two years.
