Checked for updates today for my Verizon-based Gear S, and to my surprise there was one. Installation went without a hitch, no settings lost. The note in the Gear Manager said it contained interface and stability changes.

So far it seems very stable, and the interface changes are minimal. Here's hoping I don't have to reset my watch every couple of weeks now...

EDIT: The last 5 digits of the new software version are 1AOA4.

I haven't noticed very much but one thing did show up. I now have a couple new watchfaces that I hadn't noticed before.

I have Verizon also.

Cool thanks for the heads up. Do you notice anything different?
It's very stable so far, which is very encouraging. You can change the clockface from the watch instead of just from the Gear Manager, which I think is new. I haven't gone a full day on the new firmware yet, so I'll come back tomorrow and note if there's any change in battery usage.

Good morning. Just ordered Gear S ($248). Are you still happy with the watch.
You should probably start a new post/thread for that question. :)

Changing the watch face from the watch has always been an option.

I'm happy with it but the gps is dissapointing as there really aren't any stand alone apps that can use it. There's plenty of other great things about it though.

No change in battery usage. I get the same battery charge remaining at the end of the day.

Still stable. No issues.

Sprint updated on January 26th or so. At first I noticed a serious battery drain which has since stopped. New watch faces, but more importantly, new symbols! That was important to me for passwords.

Wish they would add the ability to go back to the home screen during a call. I have no way of checking incoming messages while on a phone call.

Was also hoping they would fix the call forwarding issue with Verizon. Gear currently uses *92 to forward calls, which takes 7-8 rings before the call is forwarded to the Gear when connected remotely. Most callers would have hung up by then. If I manually forward my calls using *72, it will immediately ring on my Gear when connected remotely. Hope they fix this issue.

I agree. Why would anyone want to forward calls after it rang on their phone first? There's a reason why we would forward our calls.....it because we aren't by our phones!

Actually, originally, call forwarding was intended to be used for voice mail services. Once you don't answer your call after so many rings, it gets forwarded to a voice mail system, whether it's the carrier's, or Youmail/Google Voice in my case. So, for many, conditional forwarding is necessary. I don't use the call forward function in my GS. I'd rather use *71 or *72 manually to have flexibility.

I have been round and round with them about this. Luckily I know some people and will be going that route pretty soon. They all agree it makes sense what I'm explaining but no dice on a fix.

I would at least like the option to choose between either *92 or *72 method.
