Was thinking of upgrading and I saw this offer from Verizon yesterday “$200 off + up to 50% off on selected trade in”(yes you can stack both offer) which will bring the payments of the Note8 to around $21.00 a month. With the release of the Note 9 so close, is this really worth it? Would love the read some opinions on this matter, thank you.

Well the Note 8 is a GREAT phone. Ok so what happens if you don't get it and decide to wait for the Note 9, THEN maybe you will think "I should wait for the S10 that will HAVE to be special" You get the point! If you need a phone now, GET IT! The Note 8 is a fine choice!

That's giving the note 8 away.
Would never ever get any sort of deal here like that. ( It's still full RRP here )
The note 8 is still one of the best devices available ever.

Go for it.

I got my deep sea blue from Best Buy back in April. Verizon was $350.00 off and Best Buy had another $100.00 off. My Note8 costs me $20.25 a month phone payment. I do not regret getting this phone instead of waiting for the Note9. I think you'll too be happy if you buy now.

I assume that part of this deal is via bill credits?

If so, and you want to get the Note 9 shortly after release on a device payment plan, it might not be worth it.
