New Version of Google Play Music Constantly Crashes

I gave up and got Rocket - from the same folks who created iSyncr. Rocket works. Like so many of the other stock apps - Google has hosed another one. Rocket should be enough to get me through until I get a non-Android phone.

There is an update listed in the Play Store for today, May 21. Has anyone tried it? Does it fix the crash problems?

I had major issues with the first update. After numerous tries, I finally got it fixed and everything worked fine. I saw the update for today 05/21. Did the update. Here's what I noticed:

1. I saw the "Google Play has stop responding" message again. Only saw it once. So I cleared google play's cache and rebooted my phone. Hasn't appeared since.
2. I noticed 2 of my playlists that I created showed up as an empty playlist on my phone. I deleted it. Re-created it from the web and it appeared on my phone.

So as of now, it looks pretty stable. If these issues continues, I'm definitely cancelling my trial and sticking with Spotify.

Woo hoo! Congratulations!

Still not working for me. I haven't had local music files for ages. Been using Google music for a long time, listening to everything that I uploaded through music manager. I'll just use old version until they fix it.

OMG OMG!!! So I noticed Google Music Play was updated today (05/21 release date)

I just updated to the latest version. Here's what I noticed.

1. I saw the "Google Play has stop responding" message AGAIN!!!!! Only saw it once. So I cleared google play's cache and rebooted my phone. Hasn't appeared since. (crosses fingers)
2. I noticed 2 of my playlists that I created showed up as an empty playlist on my phone. I deleted it (from my phone). Noticed it also deleted from the web. Re-created it from the web and it appeared on my phone.

So as of now, it looks pretty stable. If these issues continues, I'm definitely cancelling my trial and sticking with Spotify.

I installed the update on my Bionic and ASUS TF300T. I have NOT had any crashes or "stop responding" messages since the update today. Funny, the update does not say what they fixed, but it seems to have worked. I'm sure the 50 crash reports a day I was sending may have helped (along with who knows how many thousands or millions of other users!!) spur Google to action. I do like the interface and the colors. I'm disappointed that the feature to switch between Bluetooth and device speakers was removed. I'm also disappointed that one still cannot edit song properties (genre, etc.) on the device. Other music players have had this feature for years.

I had the "stop responding" message stop after I figured out a solution. I updated to the 05/21 update and it appeared AGAIN!!! It only appeared once though. I cleared the google play cahce and rebooted my phone and it hasn't appeared since. Also, I noticed 2 of my playlists showed up on my phone as empty. I deleted them and re-created it. All seems to be syncing and working fine now. If I get that "stop responding" message one more time, I'm cancelling my trial and sticking with Spotify.

Oh btw, I sent around 30 reports, e-mailed google play support and also spoke to a google play support representative. They better stabilize this product or they won't make any money. I'm sure they paid a boat load to time warner, universal and sony. SMH...

I'm getting the same thing on my S4 mini. The old preloaded version is stable. I did a system restore and upgraded to the new version. Began crashing within 10 minutes of use. The screen just blanks out while the music continues. The the error notification appears. Can happen up to 10 times a day.
