Hey everyone

I've just brought a Galaxy Ace as unfortunetly my beloved old phone broke. I'm still getting used to the phone and I was wondering if anyone knew what all the symbols at the top of the screen meant?

Also, can I use my phone like an itouch? As in is there anyway of it connecting to my Wifi without having to pay o2 for it?

Hey everyone

I've just brought a Galaxy Ace as unfortunetly my beloved old phone broke. I'm still getting used to the phone and I was wondering if anyone knew what all the symbols at the top of the screen meant?

not sure what the symbols would be, i haven't used this phone, but you should definitely be able to connect to your wifi network without incurring any charges from o2... i have virgin mobile, but i was able to use my phone with wifi before i even activated it with them.

i could be wrong, but i highly doubt it... i haven't yet heard of a carrier charging you to connect to wifi...

Page 19 of the user manual has all the icons and what they mean. If you don't have a manual, here's an online version:

You can disable cellular data and use wifi with no charge from O2. Put the phone in airplane mode and turn on wifi, or for a more permanent solution menu>settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks. The wording may be a bit different on your model, but the option to disable and enable mobile data should be there.
