newbie mistake- deleted contacts and phone icon

I was trying to rearrange some things on my phone (S4) and deleted my contacts icon and the phone icon off the screen. I have tried to find it again via the apps and widgets list but neither is there. I feel so stupid. If it were a desktop I'd just go to the trash and fish them out.... how to do that on the S4? or just restore it? thanks in advance.

They should be in your App drawer. Click the button to go into your apps, and they should be there. Long press on the app to bring it back to the homescreen.
