Newbie question about WiFi

I just got my EVO and want to have it pick up signals from my FIOS router when I'm at home.

So, the Clueless Newbie question: When the Users Guide talks about "WiFi", does that include the Wireless signals from a FIOS router LAN?

The phone does seem to pick up a signal, so, is that from my router?

The setup asks for WEP hex key. If I ever set anything like that, I wouldn't know where to find it. I didn't see anything that looked like that on my system network control panel for my LAN.

So - What do I need to do to get my EVO to pick up my FIOS internet connection?

Thanks for any help.

Assuming your FIOS router is a WiFi access point, then yes. You can find the key by logging into the routers web page (192.168.x.x) and looking up the info. Did your router come with an owners manual? You might try looking in there for more details.

Thanks, Guys.

With your encouragement, I called Verizon.

The WEP key is <gasp> on a label on the side of the router! :o

LOL!

This thread has nothing to do with the Evo. You did not know how to connect to your home network.

Edit: But thanks for stopping by, and I'm glad your problem was resolved!

Ok ok ok... sorry for being an a$$hat. I edited my post... =D

Lol I use Verizon fios too and I was gonna tell you the wep key is on the label on your router. Just type that in to your evo when you connect and it will work:-)
