Newbie status

I have been on an epic 4g since release...but always kept it stock. Decided recently to swap to a ns4g and dive into the rooting community as i found a good deal on a phone. Its on its way now..

Problem is im sufferin from a bit of info overload and was wonderin if anyone could point me in a good starter direction.

Maybe some setup sugestions as well?

What, specifically, are you looking to do? Some options are:

1. Rooting and flashing ROMs for daily use.
2. Rooting, flashing, and testing ROMs to help developers with bug fixes.
3. Rooting, building, flashing, and testing ROMs that you build.

I can help explain the first two. You might have to find developers to get enough information about the third.

Mainly find a custom rom/kernal that works for me. I consider myself a mid/heavy user. Dont really do alot of gamin but im browsin the web/forum lurkin alot.

Id like to make it thru the day without a dead battery...and otherwise just have options to play with. I like havin control lol.
