newer optimus v black screen?

Hi, i have a rooted optimus v running CM7 bobzhome. Im thinking about buying another optimus v but i have been reading about this blackscreen after rooting on newer optimus v. do u guys know how to avoid this ? i wanna use gingerbreak to root it and clockworkmod recovery then bobzhome, would that cause blackscreen on a newer optimus v? thanks .

Blarf, Jerry.. Bobzhome and most IHO ROMS... have a working ROM and Recovery for the new screens .. If you go to the IHO thread the link to the Rom section ( available in the first post in the IHO ROM thread) will show you know which one to use on the newer screens

i guess i need to make my question a bit more specific. will gingerbreak , clockworkmod recovery, wipe Cache & dalvik-cache, format system data & cache and eventually flash bobzhome and gapp cause blackscreen on newer optimus v.

clockworkmod may be a problem.
use the bobzhome iho recovery from the wiki mentioned above, it's built from clockworkmod source for all OVs or you risk the black screen. it's fixable, but why take chances?
if you use a bobzhome build newer than early september no screen issues.

ok , i see. i guess now the challenge has become terminal emulator. i have never used it lol im gonna have to learn how to enter those three commands mentioned in "How to install"... another question.. im buying an used OV. what if the used one i end up buyin is "old" enough to not have the blackscreen and would this bobzhome iho recovery cause any problems with older OVs lol? thanks .

that recovery will work with either model of OV.
you can download "flash image gui" from xda or market to avoid terminal.

Flash image gui does not work, at least for me. I've just modded two 2.2.2 Optimus V's. Terminal Emulator is super easy to use as long as you know what code to imput.
