Nexus 10 Slow WiFi after 5.0 Update

Can confirm the wifi on my N10 is practically useless. Barely buffers Netflix and lets not even talk about casting anything. Having the tablet communicate with my Chromecast is just not happening but when I do it with my phone its instant and perfect.

I had slowness when I upgraded to Lollipop, but all is well on my Nexus 10 after upgrading to 5.1.

Same very slow wifi on my Nexus 10 with Android 5.0.x et 5.1

but i have found a workaround by disable all ciphers except the "TKIP" with the app "WiFi Advanced Configuration Editor"
Now wifi is pretty stable around 15 Mbps

I can't post link of where i found this tips so i copy - paste :
I have a similar problem. My Nexus 10 /5.1 an Nexus 7/5.02 do not loose connection to the access point. But each URL-request takes a very long time. Starting a website takes about 15 sec on a 50 MBit DSL. Youtube viedeos stalls during streaming.

I found a workaround for my problem in a german forum. It seems that there is a problem with authentification on WPA2/PSK wifi connections in lollipop.

Here ist my workaround. Please check if this helps for you...
1) set yout wifi at the access point to WPA & WPA2 authentication. This will enable TKIP autentication on WPA.
2) Install an app "WiFi Advanced Configuration Editor". This will allow to disable AES authetication on WPA2 on your android device.
3) start app and select your wifi. Then open "Group Ciphers" und "Pairwise Ciphers".
4) with each of them deactivate all ciphers except the "TKIP"
5) Disable and enable again your wifi to load the new setup.

This TKIP setup limits your wifi speed to 54 MBit but without stalling ! Browsing and vidio streaming works flawless an speedy for me.

Pleas confirm that. Otherwise you have a different problem.

Personally, I don't recommend downgrading your WiFi encryption to TKIP. It is no longer considered a secure protocol.

I have fixed slow WiFi on my N10 after 5.01 upgrade by changing BT router settings to channel 1 (not auto), 802.11 b/g (up to 54 MB/sec), and WPA 2 only. Now get 15 MB/sec download was <1 with frequent dropouts before.

I tell the same thing to people in the apple forums. If your device ain't broken in the first place, don't fix it.

This works!! Only for me it wasnt anything with security of WiFi because there is no security attached to the WiFi i had problems with (live in the country so no need).. The only thing i did was to change router settings to channel 1 (from channel 11).. My nexus 10 (android 5.0) went from 0.5mbit to 20 mbit.. Thanks to tozer2015 :)

I just upgraded to 5.1.1 on my N10 and experiencing horribly slow WiFi when streaming. Does anybody have am overall solution to this?

My Sprint HTC One m8 has horrible wifi on 5.0.2. the porblems just started a few days ago. Sprint is slow to push updates so I assume the update just happened. Any fixes?

Has this issue been resolved? I'm still on kit kat and refuse to update.

Just to let you know what fixed it for me ... changing channel from 11 to 1.
Nothing more, nothing less.

speedtest went from 'network issues' to 25 - 30 mb (pretty stable between both).

Good luck
