Nexus 10 Tablet - Google Books Problem

I recently bought a Google Nexus 10 on a visit to the US, and set it up and used it for a few weeks while there. However, I live in Mexico, and now that I have returned home, the tablet seems to recognize that fact, with the result that when I scan Google Books for possible purchase, all the titles (and presumably the contents) are in Spanish, which at this point I can neither read nor speak. How can I change my settings so that I see English language books, rather than Spanish language books?

There have now been 241 looks, and no replies. I find it hard to believe that I am the only Nexus 10 user who has this problem.

Long ago I read a thread about this in this forum. As I recall you need to go through a proxy and may need to turn location off.

Here is a reddit thread that discusses something similar with the play store:
How to : Get Google Play All Access outside the U.S. : Android

If this doesn't help I'm sure if you google 'accessing google books outside the us' you can find all the help you need.

You probably are not the only one, but I bet you are the only 1 of the 241 viewers who has this issue.

You are of course right, but for some reason people don't seem to understand that almost any question they have has already been asked (and answered) by someone else, somewhere. I don't think they are being lazy, or feel that others should do their work for them. It is just that using Google on their own to try and get an answer does not occur to them. This happens on other technology forums, albeit perhaps not as frequently.

Anyway, having gotten off my soapbox, here's a link I found by Googling "accessing google books outside the us".

I agree 100%.

I personally didn't experiance the problem so I didn't have the answer only a vague memory of having read something similar. Seeing that noone who had firsthadn knowledge had stubled across the thread yet I threw out what bread crumbs I could in the hopes they might point the way.

I find it interesting that the OP made a post chiding us all for not rushing in to tell him how to fix his problem, yet by the same token could not be bothered to say "thanks for the tips" when a couple of us did take a few minutes to try and help him out. If nothing else, a confirmation that the suggestions worked (or did not) would be helpful to others who might encounter the same problem in the future. Oh well; perhaps he is currently on travel or otherwise unavailable, and will at some point
at least acknowledge he did see the suggestions that were offered.
