OK I was hoping someone could help me with the simple version of my question. I am planning to move to AT&T. My plan is to get the 99 cent iPhone and then order my Nexus 4. I have been trying to find a thread which outlines if the Nexus 4 will work 100% with AT&T. I will be going on a family share plan with 6 GB of Data per month. Can anyone help me understand if this will work with no problems? If there are limitations what are they? I have been understanding that some tweaking may be needed. Anyone have a simple to understand site that outlines these tweaks? I really appreciate support on this subject that this great community might be able to provide.

That shared data plan HAS to be a 4G Data Plan AND you'll need to configure the HSPA+ APN settings that have been posted in this forums.

I wouldn't get the 99c iPhone.. you'll be signing a contract then.. buy the nexus and open the line contract free

Its kind of a pain dealing with AT&T with the Nexus 4 but yes it does work well once you get the 4g plan and have the APN settings. Don't sign a two year for a 99 cent iPhone. Get the Nexus 4 and go to AT&T for service without a contract so you aren't trapped for two years.

OP is probably trying to add another line to an existing family account. You should be able to do this without signing a contract and having to purchase another device. If you plan on selling the iPhone after getting it for $99 then that might not be a bad idea...but to be on a contract might not be your best bet considering there are great monthly plans available for At&t and T-Mobile networks contact free.

I have to add a total of four lines. So I was just getting a new family share for all four together. So my thought process was to get the phones. Keep the 99 cent I phone as a spare and then buy a nexus 4 for myself. I am not getting insurance so I'd someone else breaks there phone they can use the extra phone. I just want to make sure I get the right plan. Rest of my lines will get a iphone

Also fwiw, I didn't need to tweak any APN settings on either my GSM Galaxy Nexus or my Nexus 4 (on AT&T or T-Mobile).
